Key takeaways

  • Both firms use the same two-step targets: 8%, then 5%.
  • FundedNext gives more total drawdown in the evaluation (10% vs 8%); Clarity has no minimum trading days (FundedNext asks for 5 per phase).
  • FundedNext's funded news rule counts only part of the profit from trades near high-impact news; Clarity allows news trading without a profit cap.
  • FundedNext starts at a higher split; Clarity can reach 100% with an add-on.

FundedNext is a well-established prop firm with several challenge types and platforms. Clarity Traders is a newer firm built around no minimum trading days, an instant account up to $200K, and TradeLocker and MT5. Here is how their main programs compare.

Profit targets: identical

Both two-step challenges ask for 8% in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2. On a $100K account that is $8,000, then $5,000. The difference is not the target but how quickly you are allowed to finish.

Minimum trading days: Clarity has none

FundedNext requires at least 5 trading days in each phase, so a trader who hits the target on day two keeps trading, and keeps taking risk, until day five. Clarity Traders has no minimum trading days to pass an evaluation, so you pass as soon as you reach the target within the rules.

Drawdown: FundedNext gives more room in evaluation

FundedNext's Stellar 2-Step uses a 10% static maximum loss throughout. Clarity's Two Step uses 8% during the evaluation and 10% once funded. If your strategy has deeper swings before it recovers, that extra 2% in the evaluation matters. Both firms set a 5% daily loss limit. Our guide to daily vs maximum drawdown explains how the two limits interact.

News trading

Both firms allow news trading. On FundedNext funded accounts, a news profit rule applies: only 40% of profit from trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of a related high-impact release counts, while losses count in full. Clarity Traders allows news trading without a separate news profit rule. Read our news trading guide before trading releases at any firm.

Reward split and payouts

FundedNext starts funded traders at 80%, rising to 90% through its Scale-Up plan or 95% with an add-on, with the first payout after 21 days and then every 14. Clarity starts at 70%, rising to 80% and then 90%, or 100% from the first payout with the add-on. Clarity rewards can be requested every 14 days, or weekly with Express Payouts, and are paid in USDT. Clarity's funded accounts use a consistency rule (20% on One Step and Two Step); see how payouts work.

One-step and instant options

  • One-step: FundedNext also offers a one-step challenge; check its current target, limits and minimum days on FundedNext's site. Clarity's One Step asks for 10%, with a 4% daily limit, 6% maximum in evaluation and 10% once funded, and no minimum days.
  • Instant: Clarity's Instant accounts skip the evaluation and go up to $200K, with a 3% daily and 5% maximum loss and a 10% consistency rule. FundedNext's instant-style options have their own size range and limits; compare them on FundedNext's current terms.

Platforms

FundedNext offers several platforms, including cTrader and Match-Trader. Clarity accounts run on TradeLocker and MT5. TradeLocker runs in the browser and has a built-in risk calculator; see what is TradeLocker.
